Cartografía del Desarraigo is a project that explores the shifting sense of identity experienced through migration. It reflects on how one’s perception of the self changes while navigating vulnerability, distance, and the emotional weight carried within the body.
The project approaches the individual as a territory—one that constantly transforms even while holding onto certain immovable truths. Through external forces such as displacement, cultural transition, and memory, the migrant is compelled to question who they are internally.
Caught between places, there is often the feeling of not fully belonging to the land that is now inhabited, while simultaneously no longer fitting entirely into the place left behind. Identity becomes a state of constant transition.
In this process, the body remains the only certainty—the vessel that carries memory, thoughts, and the invisible marks of movement.
